Description
The Invacare Odstock Wedge has been designed to alleviate pressure on both the sacrum and heels. Due to its innovative design it does this without significantly increasing pressure upon the thighs and calves. The Odstock Wedge is intended to both support and improve patient posture, while also helping to prevent the patient from sliding down the bed. Shear and frictional forces are reduced, further decreasing the possibility of pressure sores. The Wedge has another beneficial postural effect, as through tilting the pelvis lumbar lordosis is reduced, especially important for patients following back surgery.
