Benoit Systems Light Drive

The Benoit Systems Light Drive is an innovative and versatile powered add-on that turns a manual wheelchair into a powered one. Available in Light Drive (user-controller) and Light Assist (attendant controlled) models, this strong add-on moves the wheelchair by turning the wheels with two discrete rollers mounted behind the seat. This makes attaching and removing the Light Drive quick and accessible, taking about 15 seconds.

Because the Light Drive powers your wheelchair's own wheels, traction is not an issue as it can be with add-ons that add additional wheels. The Light Drive is also relatively small, with a flip-out carry handle making it easy to remove and store.

The Light Drive, Assist, Mini and Plus can be fitted to almost any manual wheelchair, rigid or folding and is permitted for air travel.

A 12Ah Li-Ion battery provides a range of up to 16km and a maximum speed of 10kmh. Free-Wheel can be enabled if you want to leave the Light Drive attached but wish to self propel.

The Light Drive Plus is a heavy duty version of the standard model with a maximum user weight of 240kg and provides double the power with 4 motors and a larger 18Ah battery, extending the range up to 20km.

The Light Drive Mini is a narrower version of the standard Light Drive, perfect for smaller wheelchairs and allowing for growth.
